Local Fruit Trees Need YOU!

Image
Want to learn about fruit trees and steward our local assets? The Green Thumb Orchard is a historic orchard within the Learning Gardens Laboratory at Green Thumb (6801 SE   60th). The orchard is co-operatively managed by Portland Community Gardens and the Portland Fruit Tree Project . Portland Fruit Tree Project is seeking volunteers to help maintain the trees and harvest the fruit, half of which is donated to those in need. Training is provided to all Tree Care Team members. This year our goal is to engage more residents of the surrounding neighborhoods, including Mt. Scott-Arleta! Interested in the Tree Care Team or a Work Party? As evidenced by our Spirit of Portland award, we know we have outstanding volunteers who bring vitality and joy to caring for our neighborhood. Join our winning team to promote resiliency in SE Portland. 2014 Tree Care Team Leader and Tree Care Team Member position descriptions are now posted! Please call 503-284-6106 or send an email to michae
