Neighborhood Pride

Image
Show some neighborhood pride and purchase a magnet or yard sign from the MSANA. We'll be selling them on Friday night at the Movie in the Park . You can buy a yard sign for $2 and a magnet for $1 (or you can choose to pay a bit more in support of the NA if you want to). This is what the yard sign looks like. It comes with the metal stand so you can display it on your lawn. Thanks to Terah Beth from TBBV designs , who donated her time and skill set to make both the yard sign and magnet for us.

Come light it up! Friday July 23rd , 2010 from 9am to 2pm . Coffee/Donuts and Lunch will be provided. SE Uplift is retrofitting their fluorescent lighting to be much more efficient, not to mention brighter and fully functional. We estimate that it will cut the lighting bill by more than half! This Friday they will be having their first Ballast & Bulb Ball, where volunteers will learn about high-efficiency lighting and be trained on replacing the components in older fixtures to take advantage of cleaner and cheaper-to-run technology. They need YOU to help out. If you are available and can drop in for a few hours please contact Tim or Blythe at SE Uplift for more information.

August Board Meeting

This year we will be holding a meeting in August (as a general rule we haven't in the past). The meeting will consist of only the board portion so it should run for a considerably shorter amount of time (about an hour). However, we are looking for LOTS of community input as the goal of this meeting is to vision-cast and plan for Fall/Winter 2010-2011. With the new formatting of the meetings, the second half can host special guests, speakers, and presentations. We want your ideas, thoughts, and input on who we should invite to present. Interested in learning how to garden in small spaces? Want a free tutorial on bike/pedestrian/car safety and rules of the road? Would you like to hear from our Crime Prevention Coordinator on ways to make your street safer? Do you have a skill, idea or activity you'd like to present yourself? These ideas and so many more could be presented at one of our monthly general meetings. So please join us August 4th at 6:30pm, Mt. Scott Community Center f
