Upcoming Budget Planning Meeting

Monday, July 9 @ 6:30pm Bar Carlo ( 6433 SE Foster Road) Join us to discuss the Neighborhood Association's FY2012-2013 budget. Jed will provide copies of MSANA's budget going back to 2005, so we have a sense of recent spending.  The budget recommendations from this planning meeting will be presented to the Board for approval.

Inspiration for Mt. Scott-Arleta's 72nd Avenue

Last night my hubby and I rode our bikes to Disjecta in the Kenton Neighborhood. I made a remark about Kenton's North Denver street improvements and how this newly revamped mainstreet could be a good model for 72nd Avenue between Foster and Woodstock Ave in Mt. Scott-Arleta . And then today.... I came across this Neighborhood Notes article about "How to Improve Your Neighborhood's Business District."   The article refers to Kenton Neighborhood's success with their business district's mainsteet. (So, I consider this Kenton coincidence as a 'sign'.) Maybe it's time to begin the conversation about our 72nd Avenue and what steps we can take to improve this area to bring in some investment. Take Action To Improve Foster Road!

Two upcoming meetings will focus on improvements along Foster Road.  Mt. Scott-Arleta, Foster-Powell, and the Lents Neighborhood Associations are hosting a neighborhood meeting. Come with your ideas to share on how to improve Foster Road this Wednesday, June 20,  from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Mt. Scott Community Center. The Foster Lents Integrated Partnership (FLIP), The Foster Green Eco District, Foster-Powell and Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood Associations will be hosting an open house June, 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at the Mt. Scott Learning Center (6148 Holgate Blvd). This meeting will focus on actions to improve economic, environmental, and social conditions in the neighborhoods and commercial areas along Foster Road.
