Neighborhood Meeting Wed. Sept. 4th 6:30 p.m. at Mt.Scott Community Center!

I hope all of you neighbors are having delightful summer. I can't believe that fall is around the corner.  Our next neighborhood meeting is Wednesday, September 4th, 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Scott Community Center. We have a full agenda.

  • Come learn about how you can volunteer for the S.M.A.R.T (Start Making A Reader Today) program at a local school
  • The Laurelwood Park Master Plan is compete (attached to agenda below). Please review the final draft and provide your comments either at the meeting or you can email them to Erika at erikatakeabow@gmail.com. 
  • Listen and provide comments about a new proposed development at SE 77th Avenue and SE Martin Street (attached to the agenda below) 
  • Holgate Library update; and 
  • Committee updates and a bunches of FUN! 
Hope to see you next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Scott Community Center.  We will be holding a Neighborhood Social in October -- more on that coming VERY SOON!

    Is there a way to see the proposals for 77th and for Laurelwood Park if you can't make the meeting? Are there documents online?

    Sorry, they were originally attached to the update and were deleted when I updated in Scribd. Now, Scribd and I are having difficulties and I'm hoping to get both documents back on the website by tomorrow morning (Sept. 4th). I will also send out a Facebook reminder.

City of Portland Budget Hearing May 17th

This is an opportunity to testify about the 2012-13 Mayor’s Proposed Budget and provide your input to City Council. Thursday, May 17, 2012, 6:30-8:30 PM David Douglas High School 1001 SE 135th Ave. Portland, OR 97233 Sign-in at 6:30 PM. Testimony on the proposed Portland Development Commission (PDC) budget begins at 6:30 PM.  Testimony on the Proposed Budget for the City of Portland immediately follows. Testimony will be a maximum of two minutes, based on the number of people testifying.  Testimony order will be by random drawing. If you wish to testify, but your name is not drawn, you can submit comments in writing. Online comments are accepted and can be accessed from the budget website listed below. Mt. Scott-Arleta Movie in the Park

Join us Friday night, August 6th for the MSA Movie in the Park at Mt. Scott Park . Pre-movie activities start at 6:30pm. There'll be booths featuring local organizations, food, music and the ever popular Rock Climbing Wall. The movie starts at dusk. Bring a blanket, a picnic and your friends as we celebrate National Night Out. Movie will be The Princess Bride .
