Walktober! Walk of Remembrance along Foster Road


As a part of “Walktober,”A national organization called Transportation 4 America, is teaming up the local Willamette Pedestrian Coalition to hold the “Walk of Remembrance”.

The objective of the event is to honor the lives of those lost on our streets, draw attention to the situation, and advocate for funding and support to improve the conditions on high crash corridors.

An event is scheduled for October 23rd at 10:00 a.m. on Foster Road. It will go from Laurelwood Park (61st & Foster) to 82nd & Foster, with stops along the way, and includes the option to continue to other sites on 82nd Ave. You are welcome to participate in this event to build awareness about the need for safer conditions along Foster Road and other high-crash corridors.

City of Portland Budget Hearing May 17th

This is an opportunity to testify about the 2012-13 Mayor’s Proposed Budget and provide your input to City Council. Thursday, May 17, 2012, 6:30-8:30 PM David Douglas High School 1001 SE 135th Ave. Portland, OR 97233 Sign-in at 6:30 PM. Testimony on the proposed Portland Development Commission (PDC) budget begins at 6:30 PM.  Testimony on the Proposed Budget for the City of Portland immediately follows. Testimony will be a maximum of two minutes, based on the number of people testifying.  Testimony order will be by random drawing. If you wish to testify, but your name is not drawn, you can submit comments in writing. Online comments are accepted and can be accessed from the budget website listed below. Mt. Scott-Arleta Movie in the Park

Join us Friday night, August 6th for the MSA Movie in the Park at Mt. Scott Park . Pre-movie activities start at 6:30pm. There'll be booths featuring local organizations, food, music and the ever popular Rock Climbing Wall. The movie starts at dusk.
