Hello Neighbors! We are having a neighborhood meeting this Wednesday, July 1st at the Community Center at 6:30 pm. We will have presentation about Safe Routes To School and neighborhood committee updates. We will not have a meeting in August but there will be a movie in the park, 101 Dalmatians on Tuesday, August 25th. On behalf of all City of Portland bureaus, the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability will present the proposed draft of the 2015 Climate Action Plan for adoption by Portland City Council on Wednesday, June 24. The plan updates Portland’s roadmap for the community to achieve an 80 percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2050, with an interim goal of a 40 percent reduction by 2030. The MSANA Board will be meeting this Wednesday, May 27th at 6:30 pm to discuss a land use case (a Type 1x partition at 6108 SE Steele St.) This is the only topic on the agenda no other matters will be discussed.  This meeting is considered an "emergency" under our bylaws because we could not meet the required 7 day general board meeting requirement for a meeting due to meeting potential deadlines to appeal.

It's that time of year -- Board Elections.  We will also discuss signing onto the United Neighborhood for Reform resolution.  Thanks to all of our volunteers to helped with the Neighborhood Clean-Up this past weekend. See you April Fools Day at 6:30pm at Mt. Scott Community Center (poolside room) for our April meeting! See the agenda below.  A few important reminders: Arleta Triangle Projec t is having the first Dig N' Dish of the season starting tomorrow, Saturday, March 28th. Folks will be out there at 10am and will be there till early afternoon. Come and meet your neighbors, help pull some weeds and share your vision of the site. We hope to be making some improvements this year.  The Portland Mercado is having their grand opening on Saturday, April 11th. This is going to be a big event and a true community celebration. We expect to see increased on-street parking in the neighborhood that weekend with the large turn-out. We are encouraging people to walk, ride bikes, and to use public transit if possible. The Mercado did experience some vandalism within the past couple of weeks and so did businesses along 82nd. Keep an eye out folks and you can always report suspicious activities using ...
